Couldn’t be happier with this facility. My kids love it and are learning important life and self defense skills. Master Taylor is excellent with my boys, even though one is a bit spacey at times :) So lucky to have found it! Plus we love our homeschool class we can attend in the mornings. Fits our schedule great.

My son had tried other places and he didn't like any until he took a class with Master Taylor. My husband and I like how he has so much patience with the kids and the class sizes aren't overwhelming like in other places. He always shows the children new things daily and also gives them advice if they ever get into a bad situation. Thanks Master Taylor!

My son just started a couple of weeks ago and it’s truly something he enjoys! He tells all of his friends how much he likes going to his classes! Taylor is really good and what he does, you can tell this is his passion.

My son & I love this place, Master Taylor is really great with the kiddos, took us awhile to find the right place and teacher! I had went through two different karate places before I found Master Taylor's place and I'm NOT disappointed so happy that my son enjoys his class and The Master!

Master Kelley is a superior instructor! His teaching style is highly effective and efficient with the kids. I definitely recommend Master Kelley at Functional Taekwondo if you or your kiddo is interested in martial arts training.
I shopped around before settling on a place to put my son. I travel 40 minutes, three times a week, to bring my child to Master Kelley’s classes. There are many places much closer. I did the free trials at 3 others before I selected Master Kelley’s Functional Taekwondo place.
My son has learned so much within the last year of joining his Functional Taekwondo classes. Not only can he fight offensively and defensively, but he has grown more respectful and has become more focused than ever.
My family and I have enjoyed watching this growth and maturity in my 10year old.
We are excitedly awaiting for tournament season to come around. My child has mastered the skills to compete on a competitive level!
If you’re thinking about it; just give it a try! I bet you will love it!

Controversial New Years 2019 Advice

🎆*Warning Controversial Post About New Years*🎆
As 2019 approaches, there’s been alot of talk about how New years resolutions are somehow “bad” or “trendy” therefore people DONT want to admit that their change in lifestyle is because of the New Year.
I think this is garbage. 🗑️
Look, alot of people don’t commit to their goals. This is a fact. And this is because when you rely on emotion to get through the hardest and toughest times you will certainly fail. 😞
However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have goals or commitments you set yourself to. You just have to be SMART about it in 2019. 📗
Here’s what I invite you to do (and this is actually what I do)
#1🎯 Create a vision board. Put everything you wish to achieve on it. Make sure you put it in a place that you’ll see it everyday. (Ex: bathroom mirror, next to your bed)
#2 🎯 Write your top 3 goals down EVERY day. and don’t refer to the other days. Just get in the constant habit of writing them down. This will program your subconscious mind to take more action.
#3 🎯 Plan your day a week in advance. I get it, sometimes life throws curveballs and we can’t commit to certain things. But there’s a famous saying “fail to plan, and plan to fail”. Most people don’t plan anything. If you plan, you’re already ahead.
#4 🎯 Know yourself and your habits. One of my personal goals is to stop scrolling on facebook or instagram when I’m bored or supposed to be doing something productive. That being said, if you have this struggle, push your phone away from your desk or turn it off completely when you are working.
—> This could also mean maybe getting someone else (spouse, friend) to get your groceries, so that way you’re not tempted to get junk food! <—-
#5 🎯 Get a mentor or positive role model.
If you’re looking to get in shape, hire a trainer.
If you’re looking to do better in school, get a tutor.
If you’re looking to become more financially stable, hire an expert.
Don’t rely on yourself to do everything alone.
The amount of time you spend relying on just yourself (especially if you know that there are some goals put on the back burner) will be a waste, so might as well get some peers to keep you on track.
#6🎯 Lastly, know your WHY.
A powerful book I read about a year ago was simon sinek’s “Know your why”. This is by far the most powerful lesson you can give yourself.
If you’re a parent, you definitely know what I’m talking about. You love your kids, you would do anything for them. They are the reason you get up early in the morning and go to work. They are the reason you work overtime so they could get what they wanted for Christmas. 🎁
When it comes to being the best example for them, how are you improving your health and well being? 🤔
Some food for thought!
Have a great 2019! 😊
